I'm making an Adventure-strategy-RPG game set in China's 3 kingdoms era that is heavily inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic 3. My friends told it it won't work since HoMM is too niche, and Olden era will scoop up all the potential players anyway. Is my friend correct?

It's been a long time since I've posted about The Ballad of Bellum, but for the last few weeks I've been working on a dungeon and the bossfight in it. It's still wip, and some of the sfx are still placeholder, but I'd love your feedback on it! Any thoughts?
